Baby, it's cold outside

Winter has hit. And I've moved back south just in time to enjoy it!

I actually love the crisp, cold Winter air.

I love sitting inside watching bad weather swirl outdoors.

I love open fires.

Hot chocolates.

Winter knitwear.

And keeping warm by making cupcakes, of the floral variety.

Plus, Winter means that ranunculus are just around the corner.

I love the return of ranunculus.

Watt(le) you doing here?

I walk past this wattle on my way to and from work. I've noticed in the last couple of days that it is in blossom. Today in town it is 4 degrees, and there is snow on the hills all around.
Someone didn't tell the wattle tree that it is mid-Winter, not early Spring.

There have been some major changes happening for me recently. A move. A new apartment. And a new job. I'm now officially working in the floristry industry. I have a floral day job. I still occasionally moonlight, mainly doing weddings for friends, and friends of friends. But, come 6.15 am each morning, my alarm shrills on my bedside table forcing me into the cold and the dark and off to work. It has it's perks, hanging out with beautiful roses being one.

One of the coolest new arrangements that I've learnt at my new job is the cupcake.

Check it out below. Super cool, super sweet, super easy. Ingenious, and popular.
